  10. stored data, and/or much higher system performance.  It provides disk
  11. mirroring, striping and RAID arrays implemented in software.  1776 Disk Array
  12. Software also has an option for two systems to back each other up (see 1776

  14. Software is particularly well-suited for remote distributed systems such as
  15. retail stores and branch locations due to its "remote administration" and
  16. system replication features.  For servers, 1776 Disk Array Software can
  17. improve performance up to 3.5X as shown by the Neal Nelson benchmark due to
  18. its unique built-in ArrayDriver and 1776 Disk Striping.  It can thus allow SCO
  19. systems to support many more users and heavier database access than previously
  20. possible.  The low cost, remarkably high performance, ease of installation,
  21. option for two computers backing each other up, remote administration and
  22. on-line administration make 1776 Disk Array Software preferable to hardware
  23. array solutions in UNIX systems.
